trying to encode a 2-pass xvid but virtualdubmod throws out this error:
ERROR: VirtualDubMod found this Error: "Video compression error: An unknown error occurred (may be corrupt data). (error code -100)"
I've tried reinstalling the xvid codec but to no avail
Any ideas anyone?
I have some avi files that are landscape at the moment (recored by digital camera)
I would like to convert them to portrait so that the movies are the right way up!
I am thinking that there is probably an easy way to do this, but how exactly escapes me.
Any help would be much appreciated... :)
I have a divx 5.0 encoded avi that for some reason has developed errors.
It now won't play. It appears that the last few kb's have been corrupted/lost. Rebuilding the index does not solve the problem so I am wondering whether I can uncompress what I have, and then re-encode it without the...
Check out this great jukebox plugin for winamp - much better than using winamp's playlist if you have tons of mp3's
http://www.mexp.dk
Even better than prog's like musicmatch etc
Has anyone used this program for editing MP3 tags?

It seems really good, possibly even better that Tag and Rename which is my current favourite. However I can't seem to work out how to apply tags from FreeDB to all the songs of an album in one go. It...
I've been following your avi to vcd tutorial and have a question:
I have previously always ripped the audio to a wav using virtualdub and then set the wav file as the audio source in tmpgenc.
Is there any reason for demultiplexing the mpg file after encoding with tmpgenc, and then...
I've been checking out avi (& mpg) players recently and have decided that BS player is the best.
It has a million options and will play just about anything, with subtitles. The quality is real good too. And freeware :)

I guess most of the folks here know about this...
Been reading the other thread VCDEasy fails me http://forum.cdrsoft.cc/showthread.php?s=&threadid=17681
and I have a similar problem except that I get a burning error - VCDEasy just won't write onto the CD.
I have ASPI 4.60 and the software recognises my CD recorder...
Any ideas?
I have just converted a divx avi to SVCD using Chickenman's great tutorial.
Although I've managed this with no problems before, this time the resulting files are too big. The bitrate was set for 800, i.e. 80min CDR's but I ended up with 2 bin files that are ~815MB.
When I tried to burn them...
I have a divx avi with very quiet sound
Is there a way to increase the volume and re-encode it?
Or can I increase the volume as I encode to (S)VCD?
Cheers!
(will be using tmpenc for vcd and dvd2svcd for svcd as per chickenman's excellent tutorials)
I have some avi's that have errors in them.
They are divx endoded and when I try to play them, they will start but later freeze. It is possible to fast forward them past the error and they will play again, only to freeze at the next error :(
It's bad to play these files but it's impossible to...
Hi all - my first post here!
Been a regular of the main site but first foray into the forums :)
Well my question is that if you're ripping DVD's (or anything else for that matter), say with SmartRipper, do you necessarily need an ASPI layer installed?
I have read that with XP, the need for...
