YES! I GOT IT!

Thanks to all, and thanks to Ollie!

It finally worked after changing the region and keyboard and getting a download that wasnt corrupt. My TDK 121032 and Plextor 820 now seem invincible. Well, we will just have to see on that point. Time will tell but so far so good.

By the way, there was only one instance, that I could locate, of amplifyweak in my registry. Changing just the one, after registering, did the trick together with the region change.

Next thing I have to do is try changing the Canadian keyboard back to USA. That is the only downside I am dealing with.

PSX settings

Will the protcd.ccd profile in clonecd work with copying psx games? if not then any1 have any suggested settings that will work fine? I'm using hp cdwriter plus 9100i.

What is the difference between the Canadian keyboard setting and the US keyboard setting? I've noticed no differences at all.

There is no space between the words amplify weak, the registry entry is amplifyweak

HI

I`m running win 98 and did a search for Amplifyweak and found one occurence in Clone/settings. I changed the default 0 to a 1.
Can I tell if the weak sectors/hide ATIP function is working?
Clone does not SEEM any different and no new options are available but it seems ok with changing the value of Amplifyweak.
Is this feature permanently switched on or can it be toggled from within clone?

As you use CloneCd to burn the image that you already copied to your hard drive there is an option relating to amplifying the weak sectors, it is only then that you can see if it is available or grayed out. If it is grayed out then it has not worked for you and you probably need to change your region settings. You may also have to change your keyboard settings as well.:D

Hi

Just a quick update.
I`m using win98 and I changed the value of Amplifyweak from 0 to 1. When I write a file to my Burner the Amplify weak sectors is still ghosted but it IS TICKED. I can reverse the process to remove the tick. I have no SD2 to see if it works but it looks promising.
Could anyone tell me if there is any adavantage/disadvantage to leaving the amplify weak option ON (Ticked)?
I mainly backup my PSX stuff and the odd data cd.
