I've given up on here now, as hardly anyone will reply so I've found a couple of other forums. Unfortunately I've not really sorted mine out, its almost there though
Good luck with yours though
Are you behind a firewall or router? Do you have a fixed IP adr or does it change?sixt9ers said:I have given up !! I am now trying to figure out why I'm not pingable...even though I have set the echoes...stupid broadband...lol
I am behind xp built in firewall, which I have tried turniing of, etc to see if that helped...no difference...Nunyobiznes said:Are you behind a firewall or router? Do you have a fixed IP adr or does it change?
maqmaq said:hi,
I just had the same poblem you had with your dvd. I was getting the same error message. I fixed it by reinstalling powerdvd. Also, i think i know what causes this problem. yesterday i installed kazaalite!!! and before that everything was fine. you said that you installed kazaalite too, so i think we have a winner...
Do you remember what the file was? Or the forum you used?snow_fairy said:
I sorted out mine a while ago now, but I spke to someone on another computer forum, and he guided me through it step by step.
There was a file which kazaaa had kindly put on my puter, which disabled my dvd settings once I got rid of kazaa, and all the files it installs, I had to reset all my audio settings again, now I've got dolby 5.1 on my puter and my dvds & cds have never sounded better
I actually downloaded very few songs as I prefere to buy cds, so its no big deal to me getting rid of kazaa

I meant I had deleted the avi file...as snow fairy said...VIPER_1069 said:@sixt9ers if you are viewing an AVI file it may be a DIVX compressed avi as that is the common extension of a DIVX file
check the avi for what codecs has been used with "GSPOT" search and download it using google to locate
then install the codecs it says you need to view the file (note and only the codecs it suggests as many of the packs such as NIMO etc can often cause more headaches than they cure )
then try viewing the avi again in whatever player you are using
I hope so !!!!....thanks...VIPER_1069 said:woaaaaaaah that could be a problem with a lot of your video problems bleh !?
chickenman if yer reading this can you recommend the minimalistic codecs needed for 99% of divx /avi's thanks
not really my area lol but i learn as i go along
im sure CM will tell you all you need to know and what to get rid of
sixt9ers said:Thanks for that Snow Fairy...I have taken a look at the thread in the other forum....seleted the avi file...still won't play...so looks like I will have to delete kazaalite...!!
I will try that and see if it works then...should imagine it will...
BTW...have you sorted out your sound problem??
No...deleted kazaa...all the remaining files..etc...but still no joy..snow_fairy said:
I deleted that file, and then kazaa and everything was back to normal - yep I got my sound sorted, my fiance used to be a roadie/sound technician so he knows all about audio and that ,he put it all in dolby 5.1 and it sounds amazing
So are you playing dvds yet?
