Most people think it's a great thing that their computer turns off by itself. After you've chosen to shut down of course. I have never actually thought so much of this feature, cause I can only remember that it has been so since it was intruduced in Windows 98.
I was therefore surprised when I, after turning my computer off about an hour earlier, still could hear the fan's howling sound.
I went back up to check on it. Turned on the monitor, and saw that f*ckin' screen where it said: "You can now turn off your computer".
This has been buggin' my ass for a few days now. I've actually gotten quite used to just pressing the 'shut down' button, turning of my monitor/speakers, and go down to my livingroom, without even thinking about manually pressing the 'off' button. That's how it's done in my world. I seem to have been thrown back to '95.
This happened just after I reinstalled WinXP. I also installed SP1, which I haven't had before, and I wonder if that might be the reason of my sorrows. As I said I have never actually thought so much about this 'automatic shut down' feature, exept enjoying it's excistence, so I don't even got a clue on how to turn this on again. This is what I am hoping you could help me with.
Thanx
