Having relied on Nero 5.5 due to Easy CD Creator 4 erroring rather too much (exit crash!)....
My first thought was that it reminded me a bit of Easy Cd Creator (in layout and theme)
My second was that I didn't know where the hell I was!
The nice Audio editor - is NOT in the download version, so why they still call it "Power Edition", I don't know
It would appear that it CAN overburn (unlike ECDC)
****EDIT*****
No, the "OVERSPAN" feature is NOT overburn, but is actually a rather unique and useful option to SPLIT files across multiple CDs.
This seems often to be asked for, but until now, never found!
**** STAR FEATURE ****
So this DOES do something that none of my other programs do!
It also has a VCD player, and a CD emulator.
There also seems to be a scanner interface in some parts - for doing covers.
I hate to look a gift horse in the mouth, but the feature I was most looking forward to (the Audio Editor) is not there.
Also uses yet another "private" cd-image format, and appears to support no other
The other annoyance, is that it seems to arrow/hourglass for a LONG time on exit - the pointer still works, but it's disconcerting as no other program has ever shown that effect.
Since this version is (so it said) XP compatible, it's a nice gift for anyone stuck with just the XP features and no software
There ends the 5 minute "snapshot" - I haven't burned a CD with it yet, as I'm relatively happy with Nero - and I'm not sure this offers anything radically better - but it could be useful for some.
For me, the disappointment at what is NOT in this version, really took the shine off!
Put it this way - I'd be seriously miffed if I'd paid $40 (or equivalent) for it!
Still stands, but If I was unhappy with Nero - I'd rate this a lot higher
