Sony DRU 500A 1.0f firmware

One of our admins has a Sony DRU500A,he has not had any problems with it(other than protected audio).We have to keep in mind that many of the problems with the drives can be user,software, or media related.The most important thing is to get a good supplier with a good return policy.This is important with any hardware purchase.

Hi bud!!I am in Canada,I found my A05 at Futureshop.The Sony was there..been out of stock for months.It has been removed from the online catalogue. Not sure on your location?

totally should i flash my sony with 1.0f or not???i have been confused reading all that here!!!

Have tried the firmware 1.0e that came with this drive and 1.0f and 1.0g,all these firmwares allow 2x burning even on 1x media
(well the ones that I've tried)
But if the burn gets anywhere near the end of disks capacity
both F & G fail; With E , I get about a 75% success rate

(Burning on the fly from a liteon ltd163)

Was wondering if anyone was still using 1.0c or 1.0d and what kind of success rate they were getting
