I would have to say I prefer all of the above. Each member contributes in one way or the other.Even non posters quite often are reading to learn. Many of these people will eventually help others out when they acquire enough knowledge. Each, and every member is valuable to me.:)

There should be something here for everyone.;)

That said, each member might find one thing on your list more important than another.;) I am talking from an admin's point of view.:)

Yep All of the above count <<>> just for an instance take posting loadsa links for proggies U dont want <<>> with 35,458 members (as of now) someone will <<>> in short every member counts except the ones who join & never return even to read the posts

OK. The Generals have voiced their opinions.:D

TP - I figured that all the unrequested posts just make up more volume to store and maintain, from an admins point of view. That ads cost to the over-all operation.

CM - How did you add the extra category? I didn't see a way to do that while I was posting the poll.

Woody - I'm curious to know how many 0 posters are on the boards now. It's one thing to look for an answer to a question, but anyone who has been a member for 30 days or more and not posting is either inactive or not interested in being a part of this community.

Some posters lay dormant for over a year before posting sometimes it takes a special interest or subect or just to even pluck up courage to make that initial post that starts the ball rolling!! :D

I've been here a long time now and seen people come and go and come back again purely on the strength of this forums friendlyness and helpfullness and peoples willing to go out of their way to find a solution!!!

This is one of the reasons why this forum stays afloat even with us not acrrying warez etc we still provide the ultimate in PERSONAL service with a smile :D sure other forums are good too but not many offer the level of the one to one service that we do here at CDRBASE :)

Yes we do have lots of 0 posters here they are emailed occasionally to remind them that they ARE still part of the team (yes everyone here are part of the CDRBASE team!! :) ) and for them to come have a fresh look around at the new posts and threads we provide and people out there provide !! :D

Maintainence of this board is pretty easy cleaning out posts and moderating for us here as we have been doing it for so long now its just part of the job of being mods/admin at the forum :) once you get on top of the situation then it becomes second nature :) cost is not an issue now the bandwith has dropped dramatically from the removal of attachments so overall costs are low the forum pretty much runs itself ! :)

Yes we do have the occassional glitch one just recently with the transferal to a faster new server and an ip change along with it caused major headaches but.... for 98% of users this is now fixed by webmaster N.B. :) (thanks again N.B.) it took sometime because a) hes human and has to take some time out ! and b) had to fix some parts of the PHP that were problematic and difficult to get to the bottom of :( .. but like i said its resolved for most users now !!! :D .....those it hasent its a problem with your isp not grabbing the ip with their DNS server it may take a while for that to resolve itsself :( but we had this problem once before and it all worked out in the end so pe patient !! :)

:D

We aim to please :)

I agree with woody & VIPER_1069:)

When me said good advice, what i ment was that me never had any bad info yet, it all been helpfull & informative:)

Me not a heavy poster, but those that do are still providing info &/or advice.Hell even me have ended up tryin s/w that has been posted in the info section:p

Every time ime posted a question, it has been answered quickly & without 2 much techno jargon

For that me ever gratefull:)

As the above have said we all got a part 2 play, & me proud 2 be even just small part of the team:)

Long May It Continue:)

@LTR12101B we like to let people go see and visit the software creators home page that way you can view and browse their site and possibly download more software by them or purchase direct from them :) thats why we provide the links to the site and not the software in at least 95% of all posts here :) ... we aim to find stuff that is REALLY for FREE as we all have to agree most FREEWARE is a whole heap better than RETAIL stuff that costs major ££'s/$$'s/€'s !? :D and nearly everyone here hates SPYWARE/ADDWARE anyhow so we also try avoid that too !!... but remember ADDWARE pays the software developers FEES so sometimes even I can live with ADDWARE if the program is worthy then i feel by keeping the addware then im paying for the software in a round about way :D

If you look under the Poll you will see in small print "[Edit Poll (moderators only)]" then look at your title.

TITLE !?

hey wait should you not be SIR administrator and me SIR MODERATOR ...... erm maby not lol :D

yeah note here that none moderators /admin are provided with a forum title/status by the forum and NOT by us most forums have a similar system of however long you have been here and how much you have posted your status rises accordingly :)

other status are provided/earned on recommendation by other mods/admin f.y.i :)

Posts are near enough irrelevant <<>> Admins appoint Moderators & Admins

they take into consideration all kinds of things & posts comes into it but many other factors "Experience/knowledge/time spent on the forum/desire to help others/ABILITY to Administrate & Moderate/

U get the idea there are many factors including some/all off the above + others.

At the present time due to various reasons one could say there are very few if any vacancies.

On the lighter side the quick way to be an Admin is start your own forum!!

TP - If I had my own forum and had to put up with all the cheese and crackers whiners, teenagers that have their heads up their ass, and other general/assorted people with mental deficiencies, I would end up shooting someone. I don't have the required patience to run something like this. I'd ban everyone within a week.:D

you should see some of the cr@p we get at CDRom-guide.com forums, the mass spammers always target us with porno & other new forums. I'd say that we must ban in the region of 75-100 members a month on average.
