Well, I'm still using Nero (v5.0.4.8 for a long time, and now the 5.5.9.1x), and I'm quite happy with it. I burn at 8x or 12x with my 16x SCSI burner, I do use good media, and all is just fine. No one problem yet. Coaster? What's that?

My mom just got a new computer that came with RecordNow Max and I want to check it out and compare with Nero. Just wondering if I check the resources by using the method above?

Defragging move files, scan does not! I never tried RNM so I can’t compare it with Nero, but I don’t have to, because Nero as I said works always, (maybe will work on your system too if you don’t defragging during the burn process) and offers me what I want!

mind you, if i was insulting your choice of burner, i could REALLY have laid it on you from a technical standpoint. as i mentioned earlier, if ner works for you, then best of luck to you.

put it this way, if you're trying to shove nero down everyone else's throat as the best thing since sliced bread, hey, wake up and smell the coffee, bud. it doesn't look brewed to me -- it looks, feels, and tastes like an ersatz version of cocoa.

Hahaha! Too bad I got you upset to the point that you're DEMANDING documentation from me, but when did I ever ask you NOT to use Nero? Did you actually read something like, "no, don't use it"?
Or did you mean ONE GOOD REASON NOT TO USE NERO? If you run a development environment, and/or if you use your PC for apps like SF6, Acid4, ProTools, Steinberg and others that require close-to-realtime processing like I do, you should know what system resources mean, and any app that takes 1/4 of what I have just to execute 2 tasks does not quite cut it.

I work also with: almost everything from Adobe, with Soung Forge (has a burning engine by itself). Corel, many media apps (Win DVR, Ulead,....) and many others apps, all of them with full plugins, but i never thought to defragging! So i believe there's no logic in your advice!

Do you use all the plugins in all the apps you use, all at the same time?
