Which is the best download manager? If Other submit your choice.
flashget is gonna win in this forum, i personaly use getright,but the majority here use flashget
I used to use the paid version of Gozilla and it was quite good with a great interface. I hadn't been using it for a while as after I upgraded to Windows 2000, I figured I would do without a download manager. But then I started to realize the usefulness of such a thing as I d/l'ed some big files and missed the features. So I went to the new Gozilla and yikes!....it was one ugly dog (although I like some ugly dogs just not this one). I then zapped it to cyberhell.
I then looked around and found Getright. It is pretty neat. I don't like that it stays in my systray once I use it but I can live with that as its other strenghts make up for it.

So how come no one voted for it if Flashget is so good <g> ? I looked at it on its website and it seems quite good. It also seems to have gotten good reviews. But then again, I just read PC Magazine today and saw what they rated as the top products and I think they were off on quite a few.
None-the-less, the question for me is does Flashget stay in the systray like Getright or go away like GoZilla? However, that is the only good thing with the new GoZilla so while it is a significant factor for me it is not controlling but if a seeminly good product like Flashget doesn't stay in the systray, I would be won over.
I know, I could try it but I hate to have to uninstall it if it doesn't do what I want.

i only use flashget now bc it will dl some files that no other dl manager would even touch
I agree with Midnightangel and N.B.
you can also dissable the system try icon on getright, just poke around in the options, it stays there as a click monitor so when you click on a d/l it pops up automaticaly to save you starting the program everytime, i find that function very usefull as i download several programs at a time.
Thanks but I know about that and I don't let Getright startup when windows loads. I guess it is more that I have enough things in my systray which I have to keep and I would like Getright to go away after it is used. But it doesn't and so that is that. I know I can exit it from the systray as well but I would like it better if it went away after it was used.
