When I was at the comp fair at Newcastle racecourse this morning, I was soooo tempted by a DVD Writer I hadn't seen before - an MSI dual format that could, like the Sony one, do CDR's at 24x, unlike the likes of the Pioneer and NEC. I didnt, thinking maybe wait 4 months or so and get a 8x one...

I installed a new dvd drive for a mate of mine, (he'd never really needed one before) and while it plays all dvd fine, the sound is AWFUL choppy and dreadful. Picture seems ok, I did a new driver for it, and it made no difference. Now I wonder, is it the sound card at fault ? It plays everything...

I know nothing about this, but I have an MPEG1 movie to put on a CD and both NTI and Nero wouldnt do it, and I have not a clue whats wrong. Is there a way to go about this ? I have had no problem putting some Sim[psons onto a disc, so why not this ??? :confused:

I had to format my HD, and when trying to get some formerly free fonts found with some horror that they are now very expensive COMMERCIAL fonts. The two I am thinjking of are "Space Toaster" and "Andy" both free when I got them, now no longer. Does anyone have some good font sites that I should...

I have updated the XP to sp1a, and I notice that I cant get at the attachments in my e-mail now. Is there a way round this, or do I have to get shot of Sp1 update ? (Which is what I am doing at this moment out of temper while doubted Bill Gates actually having a father..... :D
