Xvid problems

I have tried playing xvid films however they show the length then freeze. I have used Nimo and Nimo Lite, and all the standalone codecs. On ZoomPlayer and WinDVD and no joy.

Ironically VirtualDub plays it fine! But is isn't really a player more of a tool.

I have read the tutorials but have found no joy what-so-ever.

Many thanks if you find the problem, all my hardware is easily capable of playing the film so I thought I would re-encode xvid to Divx, it did work but the sound is out of sync and I cannot be arsed fixing that for every film I download.

Many thanks to anyone with constructive help.

try reinstalling the NIMO codec pack and take note of not installing the three programs mentioned in the disclaimer (off the top of my head they are ... "TFM Audio Filter v1.0 beta 7" and the Morgan Multimedia Stream Switcher 0.95,Do not chose the G400 Filter if you do not have G400 graphic cards" and if u have installed the divx codecs from divx.com then do not install that either ) i managed to get mine working using this method :)

nimo codec pack gave me nothing but xvid problems! I uninstalled the whole bastard thing and downloaded the right codec and the ac3 filters and it was fine.

my advice - keep away from the nimo pack like the plague!

nothing but problems with nimno as well. I used the tsunami pack and got much better results. Do a search as there is no standard home page

Only install the codecs U need!!!!
Hi,

Exactly, leave Nimo alone, it's bloat-ware and can cause problems which you may not beable to recover from.

Get xVid codec from _http://www.xvid.org

Cheerz

Tried all off the above, the only solution was to use Windows Media Player.... strange that isn't it! Didn't work on Zoomplayer or WinDVD but MS's player handled it fine...

Mmmm.......

Chickenman, what do you think about the tsunami filter pack... havent had any problems with it that I have noticed. Im using the full version which doesnt seem to get as regular updates as nimno but seems more stable
