So after some time after release,what is the opinion about sp2???
I am very satisfied allready with my firewall,av proggy; and i do have a meaya popup blocker which is one of the best popup-stoppers imo :)
So do i need a sp2???
am i gonna get(gain)something??

mine is going fine

upgarded mine a short while ago, but turned off the firewall and the av as im using sygate 5 and f-prot av . other than that my system is running fine in fact i was having problems with right click delete but that seems to have been sorted since.......

You'd better wait a bit, until some issues reported about SP2 are resolved. Some of them are REALLY serious, but so far it's not clear if SP2 is the one to blame.

I had some issues at first. Zonealarm was bluescreening my machine, a cdsys file kept me from installing at first. Also, my old Ad-Aware AdWatch did not uninstall when I installed the SE version, and that gave startup errors.

Now I cleaned up my old problems that I had before upgrading, and have gotten ZA Pro 5.011 and SAV 9.0.1100 CE to install AND talk to the new security center so I do not have to use the built-in firewall and antivirus.

The problem is that eventually you will not be able to patch serious flaws with a base SP1, and will have to install SP2 to build off of. Also, for those who like to slipstream, the new hotfixes (incl the last 4 for SP1) can be integrated with the /integrate switch, so no more scripted install CDs (except for IE and MSDE patches).

Overall, I am stable and happy with SP2 now.

I am running 2 copies of xp sp2 on 2 different hard drives, one of them upgraded from sp1 to sp2 and the other a clean slipstreamed installation. No problems with either so far. I just turned off the securty centre as i have third party antivirus and firewall software. Some have mentioned problems with the tcpip.sys for p2p operation but I don't notice any difference in performance with the tcpip.sys unpatched.

I will say one thing zver, the popup stopper on sp2 is exellent when set on high, I too ran meaya but had problems with IE starting up in full-screen with it (so i had to run an older version for IE to run how i wanted it).
Now i just use the pop-up stopper in sp2, its very good.
Havent used the security centre at all , same goes for the firewall (kerio is working a treat with sp2)

Also i have not had any software related problems with sp2 what-so-ever.

So the upgrade to sp2 for me fine :)
