XP Running Processes in the Background

Please can anyone give me any ideas reguarding playback of DivX Films

when played back from a CD. I have been getting intermittant pauses

and glitches during playback mainly on faster action bits i have tried

playing films on media player 8 and the DivX player v 2.1 both having the same

problem with CD/rw and CD/DVd rom drives.

I am using a machine running a

AMD athlon 1.4 - 512ram - Gforce2 card with 64mb DDR Ram tried
differant drives and have correct codecs installed.I am running
XP Professional. I do not have anti virus running in the background
but am not shaw what XP may have running in the background that would
mabe cause this or any other software.Has anyone else had similar problems
Can anyone tell me what or where i can get INFO about what the programs are
that are running when you 3 key. control/alt/delete under the PROCESSES Tab.

Also look at the post processing in the divx codec it may be set to high
