Xbox Upgrading HHD

Heya guys

I have a question about the xbox and its harddisk. A friend of mine want to upgrade his hard disk (basically cos it was too small 4 gb or so), but he wasnt sure what the xbox can or cannot support.

Like whats the maxiumum hhd size supported
would 7200 rpm generate too much heat or should he get a 4600 rpm instead
and does it support ata/udma 100 or does he need to get 66, etc?

Then the next question is how to prepare/format/partition/etc the hdd to be used in the xbox.

I havent a clue what the xbox supports, so i though id ask the experts

I'm not sure what HD spec needs to be, but Xbox-scene has some nice guides on this

@SHADEY 4gb !? then hes been ripped off lol the standard size is 8gb

but on a serious note you can have ANY size hard disk in an xbox

once its mod chipped etc

if he knows the guy who modded his box he may know more about this

Yes I'm 100% sure the guy that modded ur xbox will know. Also if you're a frequent gamer then get a HDD that'll support your needs like 80GB or 120GB but for other users that don't really use an xbox a lot then 40gigs will do.
