Wordpad problem

Can anyone help please?

Wordpad doesn't open office files properly anymore. It looks like they are opened as txt files, all the normal "features" are missing.

Could this be due to a missing or damaged file? If yes, which one(s)?

Never mind, I found it. After replacing wordpad.exe from XP with the one from Windows 2000 it's working normally again.

this could of been a miss association of the files being associated with NOTEPAD instead of WORDPAD maby resolved by "open with" then choosing WORDPAD to open the document and then checking the box to always use this program/application to open the file
