WMA Plugin for Nero

Has somebody any experience with the WMA Plugin for Nero ?
I tried to encode some *.wav file to *.wma and clicking the "Settings" in the Encoding window I got a message "Es wurde versucht eine ununterstuetzte Operation durzufuehren".
Then I tried to click "Go" and some weird things appeared in the filelist field, then a message came about error in C++ runtime and the program closed. I tested it on three different versions of Nero - the last was 5578 - still the same. I think eiher there is a bug in the plugin or I have some system error ... ???

as far as i can tell it's normal... you can't rip to .wma with nero, the plugin only lets you burn .wma files straight to cd

O.K., but why then it appears as a option under "Extras" - "File encoding" - with nonfunctional button "Settings" ???

Nero does not create WMA Files. It can use a WMA file as a source to create an Audio CD.
I understand there are problems with good ol' Bill Gates, regarding non-M/soft companies' access to WMA files.

wma converter

M$ has one it is called WM8EUTIL.exe
It is a command line editor--there is a gui out there but it is nin spanish.
AWMAWorkshop will do it also
You have to download the trial and install it.
There are various cracked programs out there it is basically they changed the exe file. you simply replace original with the fixed version and you can convert mp3 wav wma ogg. Mostly everything goes to wma but will let you convert to some of the others. It works pretty nice. There is also a program I read about that will let you remove the copyright protection from the wma. If you have trouble with any of the above post and I will send whatever I have to you or post it here whatever is best and allowed.
