WinXP & Start Menu Programs

When using Win98, when one would click start-> Programs, a list of folders with programs would come up. This could always be modified by going to Start->Settings->Taskbar & Start Menu Programs->Advanced. New folders could be then added, and one could drag & drop programs into folders as one desired. An example would be by loading five different games, when one did Start->Programs, the Sstart Menu Program list would soon get very long as one loaded more programs. So by creating a folder "Games" one could drag & drop the five games into the "Games" folder.
I have been unsuccessful in figuring out how to do this in WInXP.
Could anyone share with me how to do this?
Thanks kindly, as this really has me pissed.

Hi thira, i understand how you feel :), i was in the same state untill i thought about it.
What i done was to creat a "games" folder on my desktop, then move all the shortcuts to my games into this folder, then i right clicked on the folder and moved the cursor over my start button, the menu poped up and then i moved the cursor over to the "programs" button,it to poped open so then i just moved the cursor once again into the now opened programs menu,on releasing the right mouse button it asked me what i wanted to do, so i clicked on "move here" and sure enough it moved the folder into the "programs" menu.
I hope this sorts out your problem :).
peace

Hi thira, with respect to Midnight angel I have found that right click on start button, then expore all users gives you an explorer window you can then do as you please, hope this helps

Thanks. The start then explore worked partially. I haven't tried all of what Midnightangel suggested although it is pretty clever and I have an idea as how I wish to use it. And I will try it.
If one goes to the right click on start & then explore all users, most of the programs show up, but not all. AdAware & Adwatch are two that do not. Is there a way to get to these by this method?
Thanks

Geetings 'forumeers', I have not previously needed to Post since my queries have always been answered by reading. And I am particularly indebt to the "experts" of the various areas of the forum.
So it is good to be able to contribute.....For Thira.

The Start menu programs in XP are divided into usually 2 folders the main being c:\documents and settings\All users.Windows\start menu\programs and the rest in the folder with 'your username' instead of All Users...etc.

Keep up the good work guys and particular thanks to N.B.
