Winrar issues

I've always ignored it, but now it's bugging me.. want to see if anyone else has this prob:

If I open a rar, zip, ace, etc.. I have to wait sometimes up to 3 or 4mins for winrar to open up. 2.9 or 3.0 does the same.

If I right-click, drag and let go and get the options of 'extract to' and I click that, it opens immediately and let's me choose where I want to extract to..

I've heard rumors that it is a memory issue, however I've always had this problem.. my wife on the other hand, can double-click on a rar and it opens immediately..

It wouldn't bother me, 'cept you occasionally get those .001 files.. you can't drag those and extract to.. just wondering if this is my issue or what? I've tried powerarchiver as well and it opens immediately, but it extracts twice as slow as winrar..

My specs:

PIII-700
512mb PC-133 (running at 100, cuz my chip sucks)
MSI 64mb Geforce2 MX/400
Plextor 12/4/32 cd-rw
Kenwood 72x cd-rom

The mboard (either Asus or Abit - I'm at work) uses Via Chipset w/ latest 4in1 drivers.. I'm going to update to the latest ones I guess, which fix slowing.. see News section, as I'll post about that..

yes, it works fine for me. Maybe wrong type of winrar? (fake v3 corporate?).
Takes less than a second to open up any of those files you mentioned.
Possibly also that your wife put some sort of hex or spell on your PC, that won't allow you to open them properly (but only her) LOL

I have not heared of this befor..mine works fine on p11 233..
PS can i have your mbord and chip set when you get a new one. if you think 700 is slow try 233..

That really sux.. :( I dunno when I'll be able to upgrade as I just bought a new house, so money's kinda' tight right now.. :(

Anyhow, what is this about a fake corp edition? I'm running the 'corp' edition I grabbed out of the ng a month or so ago.. could that be it? Is there a better vers out there, or should I just go to the site, grab it, and crack/kg it?

yes grab the official version from their site & then use the crack/keygen instead.
Do a search on winrar & the info for that is available =)

IF you wont you can go hear and get working version..it is ver3 and is allready cracked..

Or better still get your wife to open dem for you.
Sounds like she has de magic touch wit her hands....;) just playin use 1 of de workin one's above .
