Windows XP Pro minidump problem help!

Hello forum members.I have a WindowsXP Professioal edition problem thats giving me headaches. Any help and All sugguestions are welcome.

Every time I am downloading of strarting up my computer windows goes into reboot and scandisc while I am steal connected to the net.But windows will not complete reboot until I turn off then back on computer then scandisc starts. When widows comes back up there is a message stating there was an error and due i want to send a report to microsoft. But The errors for Windows XP are as follows:

C:\WINDOWS\Minidump|Mini050802-02.dmp
C:\DOCUME~1\ANYUSER~1\LOCALS~1\TEMP\WER1.tmp.dr00\ sysdata.xml

I have reformat my hard drive and reinstalled windows XP professional 2600. And this problem still happens. When i first installed windows XP I had no problems until i clicked on a program I can't remember what but that when these problems started.I am thinking this my be a bios problem.Because when i clicked on the program a MS Command prompt window opened up and something was changed or added. But I sure with a reformat it would erase everything.

Okay try this.Go to control panel>system>advanced tab.Click on start up and recovery>settings. You will see the memory dump options here.It should say small memory dump,64k in that window.

I also seem to remember a firewall was causing problems similar to this.Which one are you using?

Not sure if I'm on the right track here, just a couple of possibilities.

Yes.Small memory dump(64KB) also in the next box labeled
Small dump directory:%SystemRoot%/Minidump

There no firewalls installed or any other problems execpt windowsXP pro and office XP Professioal.

To discovering what driver may be causing this try:
Go to the startup & recovery settings as described by woody and uncheck "restart automatically": that way windows will not reboot after the error and you will see what was the cause printed in the blue screen. Usually you will see some cryptic error message like "IRQL NOT LESS THAN EQUAL bla bla bla" and a filename like "whatever.sys": take note of that filename as that could be the cause of your problems.

c:windows\minidump
