hope some one can help, my bro inlaw has got probs with his pc. its a tiny system running me, when it boots it gets to desktop screen and thats it! nothing........ however if i reboot i sometimes get the scan disc come up which just keeps on going and goin and doesnt seemed to do anyting...
please help

Well you could always set the jumper to clear the bios or pull the battery

i would go with PC-GUYS suggestion to clear the bios the quick way is with the jumper but DO NOT try turning the computer on when the bios clear jumper is in place as this can sometimes mess the bios up apparently !?

the other as PC-GUY stated take the battery off and leave it for about 5 minutes some suggest less but i always leave it for 5 mins to be sure :)

good excuse to have a beer meantime lol :)

Using the jumper to reset the pass does NOT affect the downloaded BIOS revision in any way... but since it was settled in a less "brutal" way, then this is of no importance...
