Win98+GeForce2 drivers

Of course there is support. But they certificate only new add-ons for drivers. I have had talk with Microsoft specialists. They take driver, doesn't matter, if it have WHQL or not and test news. They don't deal with old components. They only matter for new hardware and settings.

They also no longer WHQL for Win98 at all.

Elsewhere, I've seen both praise and criticism for 44.03 on a 2MX - it's probably overkill for the hardware.

One side point - if you have a DRIVER revision level below DX7, DirectX9 will complain - and force reference rasterizer only.
The Geforce range started, I believe at the DX7 level.

Yes, I do speak slovak. But I don't have ICQ number.

I think, AGP 3.0 is the problem. Win98 probably don't know how to manage with it.

I give up. Nothing seems to help me. I've tested about 15 Detonator versions, all DirectX versions (6, 7, 8, 9), VIA chipset drivers (from CD and newest) and their combinations. It took a long time testing all of this and I didn't find any possibility to run Win98 on that computer. So it seems, I have to use Win XP only. :-( Maybe I install Linux again. :)
Thanx to all of you...

There is chipset driver support for all Windows versions

(4.46 VIA all in 1- the current "Hyperion" driver, in fact)

I saw somene struggling to install drivers on a system at a computer fair - no idea if they fixed it - It seems there CAN be s serious Nvidia driver troublespot, and othe than using something like "Nasty File Remover" to clean them between attempts, and stripping NVIDIA keys from the registry, there isn't much else to offer.

Yeah, I tested Hyperion 4.46. No results.

I have clean installation of Win98 image for Symantec Ghost 2003. So everytime I fail, I make "clean installation" again.

Did you use a detonator cleaner before you installed a new/different detonator.

Maybe the problem is your monitor. I had a similar problem with my wifes computer and a teco monitor. Kicking the teco through the "open" window was the solution.

With a belinea all was working fine then.

Sure I can test it with other monitor, but I already don't hope for it.
But do you think, it can do problems on Win98 and run correctly on WinXP?
