Win 2000

Just a question i have win 2000 pro installed as well as win 98 duel boot works great, problem is i thought win 2000 did not have the 4 gig limit on video, but it has so i guess instead of win2000 fat32 ,i have to change to win2000 nt,can i do this over my previous win 2000 fat 32 or do i have to start from scratch,i am also useing system commander 7.0 for my duel boot, any help or ideas would be much appreciated.

You can convert to ntfs over your existing win2000.Type this command in cmd.
CONVERT {drive letter}: /FS:NTFS
Only thing is if you boot into win 98 you wont see any of your 2000 folders as 98 doesnt recognise ntfs

ya and perhaps a couple of the software you have installed on the win2K of FAT file system might not work anymore once you convert to NTFS, but you can just re-install them and things will be fine.

As always we try to excercise caution, so make a backup of your main win2k drive if at all possible (like a ghost image or something). All in all you should be ok, but you know how it is... everyone's PC is different, but at least it's not a mac lol

i thought you could also change to ntfs using the disk manager in the administarator tools - or am i confusing this with xp ?
