Why wont Programes Connect

Can anyone tell me why i cant connect to certain programes.I cant get connect to DC ++,Shareaza or Soulseek.I had dc++ and Shareaza running and i suddenly lost my connection.Ive done a virus check and that was fine but i cant work out whats wrong.I use windows xp and have broadband connection.

Might being using common TCP ports for both/all. You have to use different TCP and UDP ports, and hi-range values to avoid ISP tricks (some of them block the standard P2P port ranges to reduce network traffic).
