Never would have thought to do that (and I've had my stand alone apart before), but now I know what I'm going to do with my RCA when I'm tired of it. That old Toshiba DVD-ROM is going right in. The RCA very touchy on dirt and smudges. Even new commercial DVD's will sometimes skip, but the ROM drive doesn't .

Very clever. I now know what to do with my old Pioneer DVD-105s. and a totally fragged cheapie I purchased my local supermarket. Out come the hammers and chisels

you think your cheap....I have put water in katchup bottles to get that last little bitout....but you also gotto remember the player is only gonna be as good as the a/v board will let it.Been thinking about building a all media player using a old 800 mhz mini pc running linux..But funds are a little short right now
