Why aren't standalone DVD players more compatible with burned discs????

Never would have thought to do that (and I've had my stand alone apart before), but now I know what I'm going to do with my RCA when I'm tired of it. That old Toshiba DVD-ROM is going right in. The RCA very touchy on dirt and smudges. Even new commercial DVD's will sometimes skip, but the ROM drive doesn't :).

:) you think your cheap....I have put water in katchup bottles to get that last little bitout....but you also gotto remember the player is only gonna be as good as the a/v board will let it.Been thinking about building a all media player using a old 800 mhz mini pc running linux..But funds are a little short right now
