VB100

The Virus Bulletin 100% awards recognize those products best able to detect viruses known to be 'in the wild'. Unlike some other similar-sounding schemes, Virus Bulletin uses the most up-to-date WildList in its tests. This means that products that are 'up with the game' are the the ones most likely to be granted VB 100% awards.

You can find more info from their website .... h**p://www.virusbtn.com/100/

did that mate uninstalled NAV killed registery entries deleted all files i could find both manually and with "install watch pro" similar to what you use :D removed everything related to it and then installed f-protect after a reboot and puter just went haywire everytime it got into windows !? freezing and crashing and rebooting by its self !?  removed f - protect in safe mode rebooted reinstalled NAV puters fine now !? *sigh* i think i must just be jinxed lol !!
:D :D

AVG

As I know, a lot of people are using AVG and NAV in the same computer without any conflicts ... AVG is free for some area ... though AVG is not top rated ...

F-Secure is outstanding. I have used it for some years now and it has never failed. :)
But as always..the best you can do is to find a solution that fit your needs. Most apps today are able to provide a good level of protection. But the way they works may distinguish a lot.

KAV or ALADIN

Hello, I have Kaspersky, wich is using the F-secure research engine, so it's an excellent product.
I had Used A french antivirus called Esafe desktop from aladdin software. For personnal use it's a freeware, so you can leggaly update your base at anytime.

arf oki

thanks for the explications. I had F prot a long time ago under dos, I don't know if it longer exist today (pff difficult to explain what I mean in english sometimes...;-) ).
The only problem I had with AVP is that the crack I've downloaded contained a trojan, I have disinfeced it with a freeware called "bouffe troyen".

Used to use Panda Titanium but real time protection made my system come to a standstill, so when I could'nt update anymore I reverted back to the AV with Fix-it utillities which is ok.
Have tried pc cillin but for the life of me I cannot get automatic updates to work......
For the last week have been using F-secure ......and I am very happy with it.......well its the best I have used, works ok with fix-it aswell (trend engine)..............cant be too safe :D

I agree with chickenman.

I have tried several different packages, however VET seems to beat them all.
Signature file updates every 24 hrs.

The main down side is, it doesn't seem to be available on any download sites.
Need to login to download app & signature updates.

Cost $90aus ~$45euro per year
Worth a look if you are willing to buy? (I know it's a dirty word)
