What version of linux?

Being a microsoft person for a long time now, i thought it would be nice to try a new operating system. The trouble is, ive never used Linux before and wondered what version would suit me coming from XP Pro, IE..redhat etc. Any help would be usefull.

I agree with Poko, Mandrake 9 is a good choice.
Very easy to install and lot's of nice software included.

If you get a chance I would get Xandros....Desktop 1.0.
Very similar to mandrake but I think it is easier to configure.

I like to try out Linux too I saw SuSE Linux 8.1(1 CD version)...what's the different between SuSE Linux 8.1 and Mandrake 9(3 CD version)?
