The easiest way to block websites regardless of type of browser you are using is to add entries in host file like:

127.0.0.1 www.????.???

A key logger program will do the trick for you.

aight where do i block the sites with? under Zone Alarm or what program? and do i do it like this 127.0.01 www.nameofsite.c*m?

which key logger do u recommend?

your hosts file is located in the c:\windows folder its called "hosts.sam" you can edit it with notepad or any text/word processor this is a simple way to block unsavoury sites but too simple i suggest a program like cybersistter or net nanny that you can buy or download that bans users from selected sites or pre determined lists of sites ;)

search the forum for details of "cybersitter" i had a similar problem myself with kids cyber sitter is quite good at what it does ;) there are others too weblocker and some others i cant remember the name of ?! some you pay for some are free like weblocker ;)

if you use Win9x, the name for host file is 'hosts' with no extension...open it with notepad...add

127.0.0.1 www.sitetobeblocked.c?m

it is one per line...yep, it is simple...

Spytech SpyAgent is a good one...use 'search', someone posted here in the forum...

my parents told me to block some sites like some chatrooms cuz the other day this 23yr old call the house and shes only 15. So my parents were telling me to see if i can block some sites

download Plus for Msn messnger that automaticaly logs what is said... or download PC any were any you could sit and help her type and wach what sites she is on... PM me if you want any of these two programs

Or just pull out the cross over cable and make her promis not to go on chat room if she wants it back :)

The Plus! Extension is a software that adds functionalities to the Microsoft MSN Messenger.

However, some chat rooms are java based. So blocking those websites are the only solution.
