A lot of college's and uni's seem to use a web-filering service called "websense". Anyone heard of it?

Well basically it's piss because it's blocking nearly every site student's try to get into!

Anybody know how to bypass this pain in the arse service that's doing our nuts in or have any useful info on it?

Websense is a tie-in to a proxy server to control surfing by categories, all stored in a downloaded database on the server from Websense company.

As long as you are forced to use that proxy server to surf out (i.e., a firewall is only allowing the proxy server's IP to go out on port 80 traffic), there is nothing you can do. Unless you are a network admin there and make a custom rule for your IP to not use the ruleset...
