I understand the rules, I am a senior member and therefore will not take liberties and abuse this status. Can a moderator or aministrator "only" please tell me wether a post asking for the latest games/fixes for the Legal Emulator called Mame 0.62 would be a violation or not. a Simple Yes or No will do.

I ask all other members too please not respond to this thread ok.

yes the emulator is legal. The roms are not.
Dont see a problem tho.
Links only to sites not files.

Thank you I asked the same question elsewhere and got slammed in a nutshell. So sites are allowed but sites with direct links too a R*M set in the url are in violation. OK I have posted too an old topic with regards too the 0.62 R*M set.

You can now close this thread as other Loyal members can read it and then they will aslo gain the wisdom from you. Intelligence is being able too remember this statement and its meaning, and never dig a hole for yourself.

yes dave closed this but made the offer to open and reclose when done adding here as dave is not up on everything romwise/emulation... i will add here .....

GAME ROMS for emulators are 100% illegal unless classed as PUBLIC DOMAIN !!

EMULATORS are legal as long as they are not bundled with a BIOS rom (this is the console/computers operating system ) copywrite of this remains with the console makers/developers so must not be included with anything emulator orientated!!!

mame is questionable but its 100% certain that ALL arcade roms are copywrite unless otherwise stated or deemed PUBLIC DOMAIN / freeware/ betaware etc !

So to sum up emulators ARE.. legal without BIOS rom included !

Emulation ROMS ARE illegal unless PUBLIC DOMAIN or otherwise stated as freely distributable !!
