can someone please walk me through on how to add video transition like page peel,page roll, add titles, etc with my avi files. i tried but i can't get it working, i know i'm not doing it right. thnx.

all you have to do is drag the transition to the edge(the beginning or end) of a clip. then you overlap it. for example drag a page peel transition in the beginning of clip B, then after that, drag clip B to a small part of clip A. preview it then you see the transition.
i myself didnt know how to add transitions before. try the help files, they are really good and helpful.

The Vegas Video main site has some pretty good tutorials to teach you how to use this great video editor. Also read the help or print the PDF manual.
You are very right trying to learn Vegas Video. Other Video editors may be more known, but Vegas is so much better in many many ways. Just need to learn how to use it, but in Vegas this is way easier than in Premiere, and most other less capable editors.

i tried but it i can't get it working. now, i can't preview my avi file. what do i have to do?. I went to VIEW/VIEW VIDEO but the screen is black or red or whatever. please help to bring my preview mode back and please tell me step by step how to add video transition. what i did was open my files and drag the trans effect to timeline but nothing is happening. thnx again.
you have to make it overlap. the place where the clips overlap has like an x mark in it by default(if you have automatic crossfade enabled). automatic crossfade is like clip A fades and then clip B slowly enters. now the x mark between the overlapped clips can be replaced by dragging a transition over into it. you will see the x will change into the transition of your choice. its very easy actually. you really must learn VV3, its a very powerful app, more powerful than any other. all it needs is more advertising to make it more popular. hope ya get it.

I finally managed to add transition effect on my avi files. Thanks to you guys. I can see it although it's not clear on preview mode. Going back to my previous problem, that is video preview. I can't get it working the way it used to be. No clear picture, just red or black or grey, whatever I want to. How can I bring it back. I tried uninstalling/reinstalling the prog but still the same. Can someone please tell me how to fix it?
