Vegas Video Problem

After installing Vegas Video when I try to open it for the first time I chose demo mode and I can't get by the splash screen. Locks up my system hard. Any idea's? I would like to use Vegas video because I can capture off my dv camcorder and it will capture my files by the date and time they were recorded. Are there anyother proggies that will do this. I'm new at video capture and sure could use some help.

Windows 2k sp3

i had this same problem with VV3... i eventually got it up and running by dumping the Windows 2000 SP3...
works fine now on the SP2..

As a workaround, if you just need capturing and not using the main program, you can try to directly launch the vidcap program from the Vegas Video folder; it's independent from the main program and it's not time limited so it should work even if the trial is fucked somehow
