VCD audio problem

I am having a problem with the audio when using DVDx v1.8. In the action scenes the audio skips. I have my audio set at high quality. all other settings are at P4.

Are you using the internal encoding engine? If so I would strongly suggext the Fameserving to TMPGEnc option, one for a better quality VCD and two, it has no Audio problems.

I am new to VCD, how do I setup this option.

To be honest, the best solution is not to use DVDx at all and use DVD2AVI to frameserve to TMPGEnc. I have just updated the DVD to VCD tutorial and you can find it at http://forum.cdrsoft.cc/showthread.php?s=&threadid=160

100's of newbies have used this tutorial with no problems and get perfect results first time. If you have any problems, just ask.

DVD2AVI works fine, however the time required to code the audio more than doubles the time listed in the TUT. I have a
2.0 GHZ P4/30GB 5400/512MB machine with all other apps turned
off.

Takes about 25 minutes for a 90min film for me.
I only have 400celeron so about right I think.

I found the problem !!! Bad HDD, used primary HDD time dropped to under 5 min.

Does DVD2AVI handle DTS audio format? If so what parameters do i need to change

Yes it can, just set all the settings as in the Tute and it will handle it fine.
