Username and Password problem

I am having trouble logging into my ISP lately. I have 56k, and when I dial the isp's number, I get a dial tone but I then get an error message when my user name and password are being verified. I get an "error 691" message, telling me my username and password are invalid. I can connect only if I set up a new dial-up network connection in the new connetion wizard and manually enter my username and password and isp number. Even this stops working after a few times. Why is this happening? Thanks.

Good day best thing to do is to check with your isp support to find out if they have any update programs going on with their network or any other issues with the network.
Also check to see if you may have a virus with a good antivirus scanner just to be sure, then we can start looking else where if any of the above don't help you. :)

if you are redialling after a conection loss the server will drop you immediatley as it will assume you are still connected to the server already or think someone is sharing your details because your details will be still appear as though you are connected :(

..... wait 5 minutes or so for the previous connection to clear from the servers cache and redial :)

see if this helps :)

I solved my problem, only after alot of wasted time on the Windows support site, which did not help me. For some reason, I went to Internet options-connections-settings and entered my password there, which solved my problem for good. I don't know what caused this, but this allstarted happening after I installed Avant browser 9, which I found disappointingly slow. Thanks for the replies
