usb datalink cable

hi ive just purchased a usb datalink lead but it did not come with any software or driver i plug it into my pc and comes up this usb host to host bridge but it cant find the required driver im running xp
this is the actual datalink cable from this shop i bought mine of ebay but cant actually see the manafacturer label

Was it still boxed/packed?
The mini-CD is sometimes tucked inside the back card in a blister pack.

If it needs drivers, it should come with them, or specify a web site to download updated ones.

Was this an "Ebay trader", or an individual selling a one-off?

no it was just someone selling the lead but i cant find the manafatures name on it but i need the driver for it to work

The free version of Everest (formerly Lavalys) will report you the used chip (they aren't many around. After that I believe it wouldn't be difficult to pick a working driver+ filetransfer application.
