Unplayable PSX Game....Help!!

Im after a little help if someone can :) I have a PSX game for the kids called Tom & Jerry mousetrap that someone burnt for me. Only trouble is it only loads to the Playstation Logo and then just sits there :( Someone told me to use ISO Buster and reburn the disc. I downloaded the program and when it goes to extract the files it comes up with errors. Does this mean it is unsaveable? Or do I click "ignore all" and continue on? If I do click "ignore all", what do I do then?? I tried the search button, but could find no topics listed to help. Hoping someone can come to the rescue, as the kids badly want to play this, LOL!
Thanks.

@joripe if it was not chipped then it would not load the logo it would go straight to the prompt that shows insert disk ;)

best solution here would be to er rent the game and aquire it that way with er clone cd ;)

or try borrow a copy ;)

sounds like its naffed already ! if it was an import game ntsc jap or pal or other than what your tv standards are then it would make the picture either be black and white or the picture roll !?

at a push you could try cleaning the disk thoroughly with a cd cleaner and see if that helps if not make it to a nice pretty coffee mug holder i looks like its stuffed :(

:) @ joripe ya get kinda used to questions like this re: psx i used to be a mod on a psx forum a while back most common question is yes u guessed it why wil this disk not work

a) yer psx is not chipped ;) must of had 4000 people plus with eh same prob (no chip lol)
:D

at least here ya get a bit of variation of different things other than psx lol ;)

It's hard to give you the right answer without information from you. But here is about all you need to know.

1. In order to play the backup PSX game the PlayStation must have MOD chip installed or an external device plugged to the I/O port in the back of the PlayStation.

2. If the backup PSX games works with other PS with MOD chip or device (Game Wizard) but not yours then there must be something wrong with the MOD chip or device (the swapping stuff).

3. BURNING, it depends on how you burn the CD-R, and the program uses to burn the game etc. And if you copy from CD to CD or burning from CD IMAGE.

@ Luuve i think that its a chipped psx just a duff copy or the logo would not load at all ... and cut straight to the insert disk prompt or go onto the audio cd player !

assuming that as someone burnt this game for him/her that there station is chipped or has a boot cartridge as it appears to load but only to the boot screen :)

and as someone else burnt this for him/her i can guess that they have the right software and burner to do the job if not it would still revert to the insert disk prompt or the audio player !

is it possible that the copied game has not been patched? some games need patching (using ppf etc) in order to bypass the protection from the original disc. I dont know if this game needs to be patched, but it sounds as though that was possibly what was meant by using isobuster to open the file, or even patch the image of the disc..... take a look here and check.

I've never needed to do this myself so Its a long shot, but you never know...

Edited now! Sorry for direct link, went to sleep there.

again here if the game has protection very few have as its a rubbish protection thats easily copied then again it would not boot or it would play part way into the game and throw up warning notice that its protected ! f.y.i :)

Thanks for the information about chipped and newer copy protection. I haven't looked at PSX for many years to know what has been happening to the PSX world lately.

I also remember that some PSX games needed to be patched (directly to the BIN file) for them to run. I just love the techniques the hackers use on different copy protections.

Uh huh uh huh ;) i still have a lot to do with psx as there are many still round where i live and someone has to help them all out lol ;)
