Uninstalling Photoshop?

Hi,

I just installed Photoshop 7 upgrade version (downloaded @ h**p://202.96.87.60/xajh/down/down/AdobePhotoshop7.rar) to my windows XP machine. Now I have both Photoshop 6 and 7 on my computer. I was wondering if I can uninstall PS6 and let PS7 be my main version? PS6 I have is a full version.

no, if it was the upgrade version, it should just upgrade some components of v6 to v7, so you still need the main version you had before. ?¿ confusing a little lol

True, it's confusing. You can verify the download site--file indicates it's an upgrade version. Anyway, PS7 won't install into my computer w/o proof of prior version--so it's probably an upgrade.

u dont have to install PS6 to upgrade to 7 with the upgrade version. pop in the PS6 cd, leave it there. run the PS7 installer. when it ask for previous versions, select something like media. It will read your cd drive. if the cd is there, it will upgrade & intall. i've done it before.


& if you have the correct upgrade version, it should be like 161meg. & it doesnt upgrade any components in ur comp. It instead overwrite. & if you do as i said, it will do fresh install.

Another way of doing it is ....

If you have the wa*ez version of photosop 4/5/6, is copy/move the photoshop dir to another dir uninstall your old photoshop...install the upgrade of photoshop 7 and point the upgrade to the copied/moved dir of photoshop then it should install...This worked on me...so I guess it should work...

I also got the full install of photoshop 5.5 cd but it don't install..so I had to do the above :(...still it worked...so must not crumble ;0

i think i have the Solution to the problem dude.
goto w*w. sharereactor.com and search for photoshop. theres this Upagrade release and the full retail release. goto the upgrade release and download the patch/crack for making the Upgrade version into a full version. or, if you have time download the full reatail version. cue/bin format. about 500mb+ theres also a total training video there that shows new features of photoshop 7. hope that helps
