uninstalling Alcohol 120 problem

Hi guys, My uninstall program for alcohol 120 has become corrupted and will not let me uninstall this program. I'm wanting to install the latest version but it tells me that the old version must be unistalled first. I've deleted every file and registry entry I can find and it still won't install. I've also ran jv16 reg cleaner and reg first aid to get rid of extra reg entries but this did not help. There must be some hidden files or reg entries that I can't find. If anyone can help me with this it would be great. Thanks in advanced.

BTW.. This is still a great forum even without the warez.

In Devices Manager try to remove in SCSI controllers the VDEVAX SCSI Controller and in CD-ROM remove the AXV CD/DVD ROM (The alcohol virtual devices)

Remove the file vdevax.mpd in /WINDOWS/SYSTEM/IOSUBSYS

Reboot your machine and try install the new version again.

I supposed that you have WIN98, but if you have another OS version, you need find where is this file and delete it.

I think this is a little installer bug. It's happened also for me.

Hi NetLion, I'm runnig winxpsp1. I tried the first 2 suggestions but couldn' find the file "vdevax.mpd" or "IOSUBSYS" from the find command or by manualy searching. I also searched in hidden files and system32 ect. Any other ideas?? Thanks again . It seems like one time i saw a tool somewhere that would remove you from a black list that the program had ?? Could this be a problem. I have a valid key. But it may have been blacklisted on the new update.

go to windows\installer directory. try renaming the folder E9F81423-211E-46B6-9AE0-38568BC5CF6F, then re-install the software. if it still fails, search and remove all registry entries for E9F81423-211E-46B6-9AE0-38568BC5CF6F

I tried what you said kuratong. It still won't install. I'm about to give it a rest for a while. Makes my head hurt. Anyway, thanks for the help.
