Tugzip - Zip and a lot more

While I've been a loyal fan (fanatatic) of 7-Zip for ages, I nneded something that could go into an ISO.

So what do I do? - well, I could have loaded up a virtual Cd utility, like Daemon tools or the one available with Nero, but I fancy a change, better still if it's freeware...

Supports ZIP, 7-ZIP, A, ACE, ARC, ARJ, BH, BZ2, CAB, CPIO, DEB, GCA, GZ, IMP, JAR, LHA (LZH), LIB, RAR, RPM, SQX, TAR, TGZ, TBZ, TAZ, YZ1 and ZOO archives.
Supports BIN, C2D, IMG, ISO and NRG disc-images.
Support for external plugins.
Windows® shell integration, e.g. drag & drop, shell context menu and drop handlers.
Create 7-ZIP, BH, BZ2, CAB, JAR, LHA (LZH), SQX, TAR, TGZ, YZ1 and ZIP archives.
While not quite as accomplished in handling the 7Z format as 7-Zip itself (no spanning yet), this seems to be a well designed program with all the features needed. If you have the ACE or RAR exes, it can also frontend those, though it appears it can unpack (RAR at least) without them.

The only thing I miss, is perhaps to skin it with some better Icons, since they seem to be most un-representative.

A good comparison/review - TugZip is the freeware winner, while Winrar is the commercial winner

One ppoint to note - 7-Zip supports both LZMA (7Z-LZMA is the "native" format for it) and PPMd as well (also in the 7Z wrapper), and is addressing the slow compression speed with a multithread option to support hyperthreading or dual core.

I could also have gone for Izarc:
CD/DVD Images support (ISO, BIN, MDF, NRG, IMG, C2D, PDI, CDI)
