TMPGEnc - Error Reading File

I tried to cut a svcd mpeg file using mpeg tools
When i pressed EDIT, after a short wait - i get this error message

ERROR
Could not open this file with DirectShow. (0x800x40218)
Detail:ÌèI

would someone know what that means please.

Did you try to edit the file by double clicking on the file name instead of pressing "edit" ? Not sure, though !

No the problem was an un supported mpeg2 decoder. With some help from daveml - i got the TMPGEnc to open the MPEG2 files and have cut them successfully.

However - i have another problem - after the cutting process - the output file looses about 7-9 seconds of sound, at the end of the output clip.

Is this an encoder problem ?

Can anyone suggest which encoders / decoders work best with TMPGEnc - that doesnt result in a loss of sound at the end of the clip ?

If not - what other MPEG2 Editors would you recommend ?

M2 Edit is another proggy you can try that is very good.

Thats seems a problem with TMPGEnc not cutting at the markers you set for MPG2 files.

I would recommend Wombles MPEG2VCR program as the best MPEG2/SVCD editor. M2-Edit does MPEG2 but not SVCD !
