are there any quality differences in the versions of this excelent proggie i use it together with dvdx 1.7 to make xvcd's current version i use now is 252.34.129

The general consenus has been a stight increase in quality from version 12 to 12i to 2 to 2.5x but not within each group. If the version you are using is working for you, stick with it, nothing substantially different with latest versions.
