This is what youve been waiting 4 : InstantCopy Hidden Settings Editor 1.4.0 Released

Hi All!

I'm proud to finally present to you:
InstantCopy Hidden Settings Editor 1.4.0
with full IC7 & IC8 support!

as usual here's the changelog:
Code:
a - added
f - fixed
r - removed
c - changed
n - note

V1.4.0 entering a new era

a - recognition and support for InstantCopy 8.0.0.251. Quite a few changes
were necessary to realize dual support for the 7.x and 8.x series, which
explains the rapid growth of the executable.

a - a size display next to the DiscDataPath in the main dialog. This displays
the size currently consumed by the DiscDataPath Directory. The value is
only refreshed when you wipe the DiscDataPath or read the Settings from the
    registry. It's NOT constantly monitored!

a - 'Copy Method' option to 'One Click Solution', this replaces the
'Change ResizeMode to automatic if necessary' option. Basicly the function
is the same, but giving you more power with modes added to InstantCopy 8.
Only thing needs to be mentioned is "Preset", this uses the previously set
CopyMethod from InstantCopy not changing anything. All other methods are
just the same as in InstantCopy itself. And again if enforced, the original
    state is restored when finished.

n - 'Direct' Method is not supported as Copy Method in 'One Click Solution',
    because it pretty useless there.

a - (Copy) Method parameter to 'IC Batch Control'.This enables you to enforce a
certain Copy Method for each job in the batch. When finished the original
state is restored. Modes are the same as in 'One Click Solution'
    (see above)

n - 'Direct' Method is not supported as Copy Method in 'IC Batch Control',
because its obsolete, except you own a DVD-Burner-Changer that is.

a - 'How to get Support' to the '?' menu. Here you get a brief description of
how to get support aswell as the small config Info, you might already
know from 'Feature Check'. To be able to help you as fast and good as
possible please always provide this info along when seeking support!

a - a Warning to 'MisterX Prediction Calculator' that it is intended for the
7.x.x.x series of InstantCopy (only when using 8.x.x.x).

Quoting MackemX (T.P.F.K.A. MisterX) :) on this:
"it's probably out of date now anyway and even more so after testing
Version 8 the black bar issue seems to be no more as it doesn't undersize
like it did previously especially with 2.35:1 movies"

a - a Warning to 'PDIControl' if the opened PDI Set doesnt contain an AUDIO_TS
folder. InstantCopy 8 again interduces the 'ability' to create Images
without it, but for compatibility reasons with StandAlone Players it should
    be present.

a - context sensitivity to the controls, means if you have the help file in
your InstantCopy Hidden Settings Editor Directory, and press the 'F1' key
while the focus is on a certain control, the help opens with the appropiate
    topic already selected!

a - navigational button(s) to the top right corner of the main dialog, enabling
you to jump to the next/previous available settings display (suggested by
    MackemX)

a - Some additional Information to the support Info, was required through
    another version confusion.

a - Recommended Settings for IC8, the Recommended Settings for IC8 differ from
those for IC7, just a little but they do. Depending on the Version you use
    the appropiate Settings are used.

c - the way InstantCopys Version History is shown. Makeing room for future
versions and comments to be added. Also giving the ability to better
layout the info making it easier on your eyes.

c - 'Wipe DiscData' is now locked out if no DiscDataPath is set in the registry
this shouldnt happen, but this precaution avoids any possible problems if
    it does somehow.

c - a typo on the Prediction Calculator and another reference from MisterX to
MackemX which was missed the last time

c - InstantCopy Hidden Settings Editor now uses the smaller Interface by
    default.

r - 'Change ResizeMode to automatic if necessary' option from
    'One Click Solution'

f - a Bug in "IC Batch Control" which enabled you to update a job with details
that were invalid for batch processing

f - serious bug on InstantCopy Hidden Settings Editors startup code, which
could unintendedly overwrite the current InstantCopy Settings with
    the default values
Enjoy the new Version!

Greetnx

Thank you for your hard work,m8! :)
I do only an occasional dvd-video backup,......mostly it's stuff that I buy for my daughter, and although I'm no experienced user,(using mostly default ISHSE settings. )your program is invaluable when you wanna make a fine backup using InstantCopy .......

yep, I also appreciate your hard work mate ;)

Hmmm, doesn't seem to work. If I choose SET, it doesn't save the settings I've done. I can exit and restart the editor, and everything is back to default.

Thanks for this great piece of software, but unfortunately i have a problem with this version... wenn i make some changes, and push 'SET' and afterwards push GET ... it seems it didn't write the settings to the registry as they all get back to the standard values, when the program was started...

or am i doing something wrong?
looks like you both have the same issue and I have an idea why but I'm not saying just yet as I'd rather the Mad Guy look at this issue first

Yeah true, that's the same problem I have. Well, there's nothing you can do wrong though... I just put my settings (or click "Recommended") then choose SET (it worked with 1.3.8 on IC7... but I'm using IC8 8.0.0.255 now)... might be a bug or something. Anyways great tool! Seriously improves quality of IC Copies (when it's working)

mmmh why have my posts been deleted ?

i have tried a bit...

I have instant copy 7.0.3.140 installed now
and it won't save settings with ICHSE 1.40

It works great with 1.38 of ICHSE, so that makes me wonder. 1.38 even gives me a messagebox saying it has set the settings, which 1.40 doesn't ... am i the only one having this problem ?
Since it's only with 1.40 someting seems to have changed in ichse itself i think...

I have the same problems as abero. I use IC v8.0.0.251 and the ICHse doesn´t save the settings in the registery. IC does always work with the standard settings

I'm having the same problem others seem to be having. When I click set nothing is written to the registry. IC8 continues to run with standard settings.
