As usual, with few exheptions, the worst film won.
And the best film of the year ( Kim Ki Duk's stunning "3-iron") wasn't even nominated. Typical Hollywood.

That's in Korea. In the States, it was released April 2005, and for the Oscar awards it counts as released 2005.
Actually I don't think Duk (which is one of the most brilliant directors today) gives a damn about an Oscar award, and I can't imagine him trying to be in the Oscar nominates. Neither Alex Sokurov, nor Bela Tarr, or any other non-US cinema giant will ever be interested grabbing that stupid statue.
