The Hangout!

Thank you all. Things are still the same. They can't wean Kerry off the respirator, her kidneys seem to be shutting down, and the baby is hanging in...but not well. I am beginning tofeel like it is a case of doctor's fighting against nature and just prolonging the agony.

OK, back to the hangout. I was getting confused with all these threads some air-head started! OOps, that would be me.
I got the sticker shock of my life yesterday. The statement came from the hospital with the charges that were sent to insurance for this Bionic surgery. Ready for this? Over $173,000.00. (converts to over 93,158.934 GBP)

Ouch Janie, thats a lot of money, hope Ur insurance pays it all, it gave U back Ur health & sunnu nature so it was worth it :)

BaNzI :D

;) Good Morning Sunshines. Having some coffee and trying to figure out what the focus of my day will be. I have so much paperwork to wade through. ;)

Not a typo, and the insurance agreed to pay it before the proceedure was done.
Here's a page that tells about the device. It's the Medtronic InSync II Marquis.

Incredible!

My father had a triple bypass and valve replacement a few months ago - and an aortic aneurysm done a couple of years before that, no technology though. The way our hospitals are though, you're as likely to come out with a case of MRSA, in addition to what you had before waiting hours on a trolley.

He was ok though, apart from getting cancelled and lost in the computer before!

It was a long fight for me to get this device. After I saw the bill, I understand why.
It's quiet here today. I feel like tip-toeing around.
So many guests on here, you should join in the fun.
It's Friday Night Date Night again! I always ask if anyone's doing anything fun. I am going to change it now....What's your best/worst pick up line?

Hi Janie, and Hi to all my buddies out there that I haven't seen in quite a while :)

I just noticed you are in Fayetteville, Arkansas. I'm in Osceola, roughly 6 hours away. Actually, I lived in Fayettevile for that freshman year in college, then I transferred.

I have been a member here for a long time now, but I haven't been active in quite a while. I can't beleive I found a fellow Arkansan among this crowd of mostly internationals.

Edit: Wow, I just realized I need to update that sig.

Hey Wedge, this is so cool! Do you know the Driver family from Osceola? Did you go to High School there or anything?
I just moved to Arkansas last November from New York. I will never leave here!!
