System Commander Problem

i recently installed system commader 7 on my computer in order to install another o/s on it. however when i rebooted my second hard drive is unavailable... i cant acess it at all no matter how i try.. Partition magic still shows the drive as being there but i cant get into it, when i rebooted the shortcut from my desktop to the drive has a red ? mark beside it.... has anyone seen this before? and if so can u please tell me how to make my system see the drive?. i have a lot of thigns on there i dont feel like losing:(

One posibility is that your driver is hiden.
In this case look into System Commander Options. Somewhere there is an option where you decide for each OS if another partition/hdd is visible or not. Make there all the necesary changes.

Note: this is only a posibility based on the suposition that you checked everithing else (cables, BIOS,...)

i found out how to unhide the drive and partitions, so i went ahead and installed another o/s i have to say special thanks to the developers of sys commander for NOT letting me know the boot record would be overwritten when i finished the install of the second o/s. What a headache that was when once again i thought i had lost my primary o/s and my second drive AGAIN. i had to change the boot record back to boot from my c drive and let sys commander do the boot process instead of the second o/s.... oh well live and learn i guess but at least now i'm back :)

Probably your second OS is on NT technology. Microsoft have the impresion that he knows better, so he will do such things.
This shold not happend if you install other OS's (Win9x, Linux)

Here is some advices:
. If you install Linux be carefull to say that you want LILO boot and you want it placed on the partion where is installed (Linux) not in the MBR.
. Do not install 2 OS based on Microsoft NT technology (Windows NT 4.0/ 2000 /XP). It is possible that they will not work in the same time.
