just completed a reinstall of my system, is there anyway i could back the whole of my system up and when it comes to doing a reinstall agin i could just boot from a dvd? if so what would be the best prog to use please....thanx

The best is probably Acronis TrueImage- although opinions vary.
There are also freeware solutions which work fine, e.g. Live CD's like Knoppix, or rescue live CD's like http://www.sysresccd.org/ which are based on "partimage" utility and work fine, unless you use compression or encryption in your NTFS volumes. But anyway, before making a recovery backup with ANY application it's strongly recommended to decrypt files and disable compression, else you might find yourself trapped in the end.
