SVCD using Nero 5.5.5.1 and MPEG 2 plug in

Hiya All
I wanted to try converting a divx movie to svcd using Nero, i have version 5.5.5.1, i D/Loaded and installed the MPEG 2 plug into the windows syst32 dir from h**p://***.cdrsoft.cc, but when i drag the file i want to convert i get a message you are using a beta version of the encoder, due to patent licence restrictions, the MPEG encoding/converting is not available.
To Add this possibility please purchase the Nero MPEG codec plugin.

Before i installed the plug in i tried a converting to VCD this time i managed to drag the file i wanted to convert only to get an error message not enough memory.
I am running a
ECS K7S5A Mobo
1700 XP+ CPU
256MB DDR memory,
Liteon 231040 CDrW,
Memorex DVDrom x16/48 speed
Didnt think that i would not have enough system recources.
Any ideas.
Thankx In Advance.

With 5.5.5.1 there was also a small file issued by Nero to fix SVCD & VCD creation.

I have attached it. Unzip and read the readme.

RE:VCD and Nero 5.5.5.1

Thank you for the file!

I hope it works. I understand that in the latest versions of nero there aren't any problems with VCD/SVCD. Right?

Thank you.

adiazreb, not sure on latest Nero versions myself as I went through hell getting ANY version of Nero 5.5.x.x to work on my system so I'm staying with 5.5.5.1. Besides, what is really new or fixed in the later versions anyway?

RE

You're right. I haven't tried new Nero versions because I don't know what is supposed to be fixed.
:)

Your file works perfectly. THANK YOU FOR ALL.

At Address 73f91064, read error occured against address 73f91064, I have tried selecting a different part of the movie to cut , but still i get a read error, followed the steps for cutting again, think ive done everything right, any ideas.

Tommy, I'm assuming your running Windows XP, as many others have the same problem. Just ignore the error message and all will be well.

Hi Chickenman, thanks for your reply.

Yes you are right i am using XP "Pro", does Tmg have a problem with this O/S.
The problem i am having when i come to cut the file with Tmpg is:
I open Mpeg tools, click on merge and cut tab, in type i select super videoCD, click on add and load the file previously encoded with Tmpg, hilight the file and click edit, no problems so far, select the start and end parts of the 1st file, click OK, this is when i get the error message and Tmpg goes back to Mpeg tools.

I cant ignore the error message, Tmpg wont let me get any further.

Thanks..

Your doing everything right, its just TMPGEnc doenst like XP. Have you tried the latest ver 2.5 of TMPGEnc though.

I have suggested I-Film Edit as an alternative editor/cutter and reports are it works fine. Sorry I dont have a d/l addy at the moment.
