surround sound on vcd &svcd

is there a way to get surround sound on vcd svcd
every thing i tried is for dvx. dvx does not play in dvd players
as far as i know.

not sure about some of the apps, but I know flaskMPEG can do it with VCD. It is in the audio player section when adjusting the sound. If the DVD has 5.1 channels then you can keep it at that & adjust the multichannel volumes for your preference.

However heed the words of elpresidente & wait for CM to give you your best options.
(however the VCDs I have been making DVD2AVI method) work fine on my friends 5.1 setup home entertainment with standalone DVD player)

On DVD2AVI Dynamic range control on light or above u still get Dolby.Not vey strong on light, but you can just turn your amp up to compensate.

Yes, (S)VCD's made using the Tutes will produce a surround sound but not exactly as the original. Just make sure ias I say in the Tut, tick in DVD2AVI, the Dolby Surround Downmix and you wont loose much. Keep Dynamic range to OFF or Low as it can distort the output if set any higher.
