Subtitel sync problem

Hello there,

I've made a backup of Abyss Special Edition using dvd2dvd-r 1.4.4. Everything went fine, sound and video are ok but halfway through the movie the subs get out of sync. About 3 secs too early. Never had this problem before with other movies, is this a problem related to this movie ?
Is there a solution for this problem ?

Abyss Special Edition is a big VIDEO_TS FILES. dvd2dvd may not take good backup correctly. Use DVDXCopy. There are Good in Backup DVD-9 into 1:1 direct to DVD-5 x 2 DVD-R. Try it.;)

Hi Chickenman,

I know it's a new version and i also know that many people have problems with it but not subtitle related. Abyss was the first one i did with this new version but after that i did 3 or 4 others without any probs at all.
Could the problem come from the fact that there are two movies in the same VTS ? The long version (2h 43min) is the first PGC in VTS 1 and the short version (2h 19min) is in the second PGC of VTS 1. By the way, it's Abyss SE - Pal version r2

Hi Chickenman,

Actually you can work from HD with dvd2dvd-r if you put the files in a VIDEO_TS folder. I tried both ways with dvd2dvd-r but no succes. I don't mind trying it with your dvd2svcd tutorial but doesn't maestro have issues with the subs as well ?

No issues, as long as you use the latest DVD2SVCD and set the Time Offset to 00:00:00. SubRip the subs, save as Maestro format & import, to easy.

OK, thanks Chickenman.
I'll give it a try and let you know.
As usual you have the answers.........
