Stomp DLA

I have just installed Stomp DLA as a packet writer. My OS is WIn98 SE and I have a Plex 12x4x32x. Problem is when I try to use the program "No Compatible Devices can be found on your system." comes up. My CD writer is checked by auto insert notification in the device manager. Any ideas as how to get this program operational??

I've WinOnCD PE 3.8 installed. Also PlexManager, ISO Buster, CloneCD, Clony & CDRWin. Should I also remove all?

For Thira:

Mmmmmm....I had the exact same problem as you "No Compatible Devices can be found on your system," but I'm running Windows XP Home. Very strange that we are both using CloneCD as well (only proggie we have in common). You are using a recent version of CloneCD ??? I'm using ver 3.2.3.1. It just might be this.

However, I (quite by accident) found a fix that works. I disabled both CloneCD Tray and DLA on startup. They both work fine for some time now without needing to stay in resident memory.

Give this a try, but if no go try Pokopiko's solution.

I had the same problem too when I first started using DLA. At the time I only had VOB 6 without InstantWrite installed and PlexManager. I uninstalled PlexManager because I really never used it and all my problems were solved. You might try ditching PlexManager as well and see if it doesn't cure your problem.

I have uninstalled PlexManager & WinOnCD 3.8 PE.
Sstomp DLA mow recognizes my PlexWriter 12x4x32 SCSI burner. Howeverthere is a small icon on the bottom of my desktop next to the speaker sound icon. If I uncheck this in the system configuration utility at startup and reboot, my burner is no longer found by Stomp DLA. I then have to uninstall Stomp DLA and reinstall it so that it will again work. Any way to have this software and have it disables at startup?
Thanks

DLA must load at start-up in order to work. The icon in the tray is for the DLA tools, you can right click on the icon & choose not to load the tools or close them, this will get rid of some of the overhead but dla will remain active. You can rt. click on your burner icon & disable dla but I think the overhead remains the same. Hope this helps.

Warning: the next step involves editing your System Registry. We strongly recommend you export your registry before attempting any editing. Editing your registry incorrectly can cause irreparable system damage. We recommend that if you do not feel comfortable editing your registry that you skip this step.
1. Log on as Administrator
2. Open the Registry Editor
3. Remove the Upperfilters and Lowerfilters values completely from the following registry key:
HKEY_LOCAL_MACHINE\SYSTEM\CurrentControlSet\Control\Class\{4D36E965-E325-11CE-BFC1-08002BE10318}
4. Restart your computer.
this is the ms sight to go to h**p://search.support.microsoft.com/ and article Q314060

IMPORTANT : This article contains information about editing the registry. Before you edit the registry, make sure you understand how to restore it if a problem occurs. For information about how to do this, view the "Restoring the Registry" Help topic in Regedit.exe or the "Restoring a Registry Key" Help topic in Regedt32.exe.

For a Microsoft Windows 2000 version of this article, see Q270008 .

SYMPTOMS
After you remove Adaptec Easy CD Creator version 5.01 or earlier or DirectCD version 3.01 or 3.01c from your computer, your computer may exhibit the following behavior:

In My Computer, there is no access to your CD-ROMs.

In Device Manager, the following error message appears in connection with any CD-ROM device that is part of your computer system:

The device is not working properly because Windows cannot load the drivers required for this device (Code 31).
Device Manager displays the following error message:

A driver for this device was not required, and has been disabled (Code 32 or Code 31).
You may also receive an error Code 39 message that indicates that the driver is corrupted.

Device Manager displays the following error Code 19 message, which means that the registry returned some unknown result:

Your registry might be corrupted. (Code 19)

RESOLUTION
WARNING : Using Registry Editor incorrectly can cause serious problems that may require you to reinstall your operating system. Microsoft cannot guarantee that problems resulting from the incorrect use of Registry Editor can be solved. Use Registry Editor at your own risk.

For information about how to edit the registry, view the "Changing Keys and Values" Help topic in Registry Editor (Regedit.exe) or the "Add and Delete Information in the Registry" and "Edit Registry Data" Help topics in Regedt32.exe. Note that you should back up the registry before you edit it. If you are running Windows NT or Windows 2000, you should also update your Emergency Repair Disk (ERD).

To resolve this behavior, follow these steps:

Start Registry Editor (Regedt32.exe).

Locate the UpperFilters value under the following key in the registry:

HKEY_LOCAL_MACHINE\SYSTEM\CurrentControlSet\Control\Class\{4D36E965-E325-11CE-BFC1-08002BE10318}
On the Edit menu, click Delete , and then click OK .

Locate the LowerFilters value under the same key in the registry:

HKEY_LOCAL_MACHINE\SYSTEM\CurrentControlSet\Control\Class\{4D36E965-E325-11CE-BFC1-08002BE10318}
On the Edit menu, click Delete , and then click OK .

Quit Registry Editor.

NOTE : An error message about Code 39 may mean that additional third-party filter drivers have been added to the UpperFilters and LowerFilters values, in addition to Adaptec filter drivers. You can try to remove the non-Adaptec filter drivers first, leaving the Easy CD Creator filters in place to see whether the Code 39 error goes away. If you still receive a message about error Code 39, Code 32, or Code 31, completely remove the UpperFilters and LowerFilters values from the registry key.

Restart your computer.

HKEY_LOCAL_MACHINE\SYSTEM\CurrentControlSet\Control\Class\{4D36E965-E325-11CE-BFC1-08002BE10318}
