Sony HAndycam - burning VCD's CDR does not exist

Hi,
I've just bought a Sony DVD camcorder 201e. I;m trying to burn a VCD of the video on an NEC7800b CD-R the software that came with the driver is EASY CD creator but it says I have to buy the latest version at $80USD any free VCD burning software around?
Any info much appreciated

You can try Nero which is a shareware/bugware. But dont be put off.

Don't forget the tutorials here, you may find something useful - if you're talking about a straight VCD and not anything more exotic, the free version of TMPGENC should handle the encoding http://www.tmpgenc.net/e_main.html
